Tahar Abbou, University of Adrar

Tahar Abbou, Ph.D. in African Civilization,is associate professor at the University Ahmed Draia, Adrar. He is a lifetime member at the West African Research Association (WARA), Boston University, and a member of a working-team on manuscripts, the Laboratory of Algerian Manuscripts in Africa (LAMA). His areas of interest are: the ancient empires and Kingdoms in West Africa, Slavery (Trans-Atlantic and Trans-Saharan slave trade), manuscripts, Sufism, Pilgrimage and religious celebrations, Berber studies and anthropological studies on the regions of Tuat, Gurara and Tidikelt.
