Abstract

“A European of High Grad: The Writer Iulii Margolin”. This article is an essay on the life and work of the Israeli writer and publicist, poet and political philosopher, public figure and well-known fighter against communist ideology Julius Margolin (1900–1971), whose spiritual and intellectual heritage is becoming more and more widespread and recognized today around the world. This is evidenced by the increasing number of translations of Margolin’s main book – Journey to the Land of Zeka (1949; the first edition in the original language – 1952) into different languages: English, French, German, Polish, and Hebrew, as well as the quantitative expansion of the international team of scholars who have devoted their research studies to Margolin, and – most importantly – the qualitative increase in the level of the latter. All these trends are traced in this article which summarizes the results of the  current state of Margolin studies.
