Dalla poesia dialettale al DESN. Il lessico del mare nella produzione di Antonio Calabrese

Abstract

The essay examines the poetic production in Neapolitan of Antonio Calabrese (1932-2024) and focuses on its dialectal sea lexicon, tracing and illustrating four categories: landscape, ecosystem, fishing, and navigation. To probe the documentary value that neo-dialectal poetry may have for lexicography, this discussion is joined by four DESN entries selected from the lexicon of the poet and with little representation in Neapolitan dictionaries: groia, purpara, resacca, stracquatura. The study arises from a reflection on the relationship between dialectology and dialect literature, conducted from some observations of Alberto Varvaro.
