Abstract

The monographic section seeks to explore the spread of the discourses aimed at naturalizing specific political relationships and social identities in late medieval Italy. The various papers focus on the different contexts where these motifs were clarified: the debate on the artificial essence of nature in legal thought (S. Menzinger); noble identity (F. Del Tredici); belonging to a party (M. Gentile); the representations of princely power (F. Cengarle); the condition of subject (M. Della Misericordia, L. Arcangeli).
