Author Biography

Gennaro Schiano, University of Naples Federico II

Gennaro Schiano (1985) is a research fellow in Spanish literature at the University of Naples Federico II. He is a member of the research team of the ERC project Discompose (Disasters, Communication and Politics in Southwestern Europe) and deals with the representation of natural disasters in the relaciones de sucesos of the XVI-XVII centuries. To the narration of catastrophe in the Golden Age centuries, he dedicated the monograph Relatar la catástrofe en el Siglo de Oro. Entre noticia y narración (Peter Lang, 2021). He has also dealt with 20th-century literature, both in the Hispanic field, focusing on the works of Ramón Gómez de la Serna and the literary tradition of the genre of greguerías; and in the comparative field, with various contributions on the autobiographical genre and its relations with the novel, including the monograph Paradigmi autobiografici. Ramón Gómez de la Serna, Christopher Isherwood, Michel Leiris, Alberto Savinio (Pacini, 2015).
