Complexity, agency and emergency of meaning in living systems. A teleological approach

Abstract

Keeping as a reference the horizon of the agency theory of S.A. Kauffman and the neurobiology of meaning of W.J. Freeman, the article, by recourse to a specific epistemological approach linked to the biological complexity theory, examines the possibility of interpreting life and cognition as emergent phenomena in the same way as the hierarchy of self-organization in constant coevolution.
