Strengths and weaknesses of the national gender equality certification system
Focus on its application to the public contract sector
Abstract
The following paper aims to address the issue of gender equality certification, focusing on public procurement and the challenges that the institution poses within our social reality. In particular, the document will attempt to highlight how the legislator has chosen to indirectly promote women’s entry into the working field, as well as their career progression, following a reward-type logic and entrusting this process to companies and businesses, when perhaps it would have been more proper to adopt an approach aimed at strengthening social rights through the introduction of structural measures capable of improving the conditions of working women, mothers and non-mothers
