La valorizzazione del waterscape come percorso di sviluppo delle aree interne: buone pratiche nell’appennino campano

Abstract

The paper aims to detect good practices for the enhancement of a waterscape in an inner area of Southern Italy, located at the sources of the Sele river, on the border between Campania and Basilicata.

This “liquid” heritage is involved in more recent years in a set of initiatives that have contributed to its usability as a resource for the development of tourist activities, giving a strong cultural role to the host community, that is recognized as the guardian of new and precious local chains of sustainability. These chains are oriented to enhance the local waterscape as cultural landscape, starting an inclusive process where local community is involved both in projecting and in realizing new forms of development, focused on slow tourism and territorial regeneration.
