Publication Ethics
Pagine Inattuali is published as open access to ensure the widest possible dissemination and circulation of knowledge vetted by the scientific community. The Journal has no commercial interests; therefore, the editorial processes and decisions are independent of any commercial considerations.
Pagine Inattuali adopts the peer-review system for evaluating submitted articles. Each text is anonymously assigned to two reviewers (double-blind peer review). The review process is managed by the Editorial Board in collaboration with the Scientific Committee. Reviewers are selected based on their competence and high qualification in the subject matter. The identity of the reviewers is always kept confidential unless misconduct is suspected or alleged, requiring disclosure to third parties.
The Editorial Board and Scientific Committee of Pagine Inattuali are responsible for the final decision on the publication of submitted articles. This decision is made within ninety days of the article's submission by the Author. The Journal retains all published articles and ensures the long-term preservation of all content through the LOCKKS system and Magazzini Digitali.
The Editorial Board and Scientific Committee evaluate submitted articles based on their content without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnic origin, citizenship, political orientation, or academic affiliation. The Journal aims to ensure maximum transparency and full and honest reporting of its work to Authors, readers, reviewers, and all other parties involved.
The Editorial Board and Scientific Committee commit not to influence the journal's ranking by artificially increasing metrics. Specifically, it is ensured that the review of submitted articles is based purely on cultural criteria and that Authors are not induced to cite specific publications for non-scientific reasons.
The Editorial Board and Scientific Committee commit not to disclose information about submitted articles to anyone other than the author, reviewers, and publisher. Submitted contributions are never shared with editors of other journals unless agreed upon with the author or in case of alleged misconduct. In case of misconduct investigation, material may be made available to third parties. The editorial office keeps a confidential archive of the peer review results of essays, whether accepted or not for publication.
The Editorial Board and Scientific Committee commit not to use the content of a submitted article in their own research without the written consent of the Author.
The Editorial Board and Scientific Committee periodically review the peer-review process to introduce possible improvements. They also reserve the right to use a third reviewer in case of a conflict between two opinions and if the publication decision cannot be resolved internally. Collaboration with a reviewer will be permanently terminated if the time and manner prescribed by the evaluation procedure are not respected at any point.
All Authors of works published in the Journal are responsible for their conduct and the validity of their research and writing. Authors are aware that all content is distributed under the “Creative Commons - Attribuzione” (CC-BY 4.0). With the CC-BY license, authors retain copyright on their contributions while allowing anyone to download, reuse, reprint, and distribute published materials, provided the author and original publication site are correctly cited. If a dispute arises over the authorship of a contribution, it will be resolved in appropriate institutional venues or through other independent bodies. Editors will act accordingly, for example, by correcting the authorship of published works.
Pagine Inattuali subjects contributions presented for publication by the director and members of the Scientific Committee to the same anonymous evaluation procedure.
Pagine Inattuali welcomes and encourages criticism and debate. If errors are reported by readers, Authors, or publishers in contributions published in the Journal, a corrected version will be published as soon as possible, provided the errors do not invalidate the work as a whole. The corrected contribution will appear with a correction date. If the error invalidates the work or substantial parts of it, the article will be retracted with an explanation of the reason for retraction ("honest error"). Retracted contributions will remain online and will be clearly marked in all online versions, including the PDF, for the benefit of future readers.
Pagine Inattuali considers readers' criticisms of published contributions favorably and will consider their publication to promote scientific debate, provided they are timely. Authors of the contributions will be given the opportunity to respond to further promote debate. Any criticisms that raise possible misconduct will be thoroughly investigated even if received long after publication.
